THE WAR IN UKRAINE, WHO CAUSED IT??

We all know about the war currently happening in Ukraine. Vladimir Putin vowed to destroy the country and capture or kill President Zelenskyy ….. But why?

Everyone looks at Putin and see a big monster with no compassion or regard for human life. That may be true but everyone has to have a reason for doing something. So what is his reason?? Before we get into that, let’s recap what’s going on in Ukraine. Around 200,000 Russian soldiers marched into Ukraine and started shooting at people and destroying properties, some say for no reason and this war is completely unprovoked but was it??

The Ukrainian people fought heroically against the well-equipped, well trained Russian soldiers, the casualty in life and property is enormous, and increasing by the minute. The US and many of the European countries are helping Ukraine by sending them everything they need from military equipments to food to medicine to …. , at the same time they are trying to pressure Putin to back off and send his soldiers back to Russia. Boycotts and sanctions were imposed on Russia in a desperate effort to do just that. President Biden said repeatedly, we have nothing against the Russian people but we are steadfast against Putin, but who’s getting hurt by imposing these sanctions and boycotts?? The Russian people of course.

The president of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelenskyy is hailed as a hero for rallying his people to fight against the Russian Army and for his tough talk to the Russians. At the same time he’s asking or rather begging the US and Europe for help. He seems to be “The man of the hour”, the brave leader who is standing tall against a much more powerful enemy. The idea of blaming him for the war would be preposterous and outrageous …… right???…. WRONG.

Before you think I am crazy and maybe was paid by Putin to say that, read the rest of the article and use your own judgement. Here’s the reason for the savage attack by Putin on Ukraine.

The president of Ukraine wanted very badly to join NATO. His request was denied initially but there was still a chance that his country might be accepted. Putin, and rightly so, was not only outraged at the idea of Ukraine joining NATO but he was downright scared, because this means that the NATO countries, led by the United States could place Missiles and military bases at his back door and there’s nothing he can do to stop them.

Remember the Cuban Missile crises in 1962? While John Kennedy was a president, a U-2 spy airplane photographed a secret buildup of nuclear missile bases in Cuba by the Soviet Union. After a secret meeting with his cabinet members, Kennedy ordered a naval blockade of the Island of Cuba, preventing the Russians from adding to the bases and said that he will not remove the blockade until Nikita Khrushchev, the Soviet Union President at the time orders those bases dismantled. Khrushchev did and the blockade was removed. Had Kennedy allowed those bases to stay, the United States will live in constant fear as the cold war could’ve turned into a hot war and this country would’ve been destroyed.

Well, Putin felt the same way that Kennedy did. He repeatedly asked for an assurance from the president of Ukraine that his country will never join NATO, Zelenskyy refused to give him such an assurance, so he felt that his back is against the wall and attacking Ukraine was the only way to ensure that it will never join NATO. Had he ignored that, Russia would live in constant fear just as the US would have had Kennedy not acted decisively on the Cuban Missile Crises.

I am not justifying what Putin did, and still doing, in Ukraine but Zelenskyy could’ve prevented the destruction of his country and the death of hundreds of thousands of people needlessly. So, in my opinion, he, Zelisnsky, and he alone is responsible for what happens in Ukraine.

It’s funny how the news media stated the fact that Putin wanted an assurance that Ukraine would not join NATO and he was building a big army at the borders of Ukraine, but when the war started, they developed an amnesia and only talked about the heroic president and the people of that country.

So, the war in Ukraine, the destruction of that country and the death of hundreds of thousands of people falls squarely on the shoulders of one man, and it’s not Putin, its Zelenskyy.
