Our government used to be called democratic, fair and unbiased, but that description no longer holds true. No one in the country is more corrupt than our beloved Senators, members of the House of Representatives and on top of all, our fearless leader in the White House.
99% of the republicans and 80% of the democrats in the house and senate are, directly or indirectly, bought and paid for by AIPAC, the American Israeli Political Action Committee. Those people were supposed to serve the American public but instead they are working to please Israel because they receive millions of dollars from AIPAC in the form of gifts, trips, political contribution and just pocket money to do whatever they are told by the Israeli Lobby. The corruption starts at the top. Donald Trump received $100 million by Miriam Adelson to look the other way while Israel annexes the West Bank that they robbed the Palestinians from, and killed over 70,000 innocent civilians in Gaza. When asked about that, Trump said it will never happen, I will not allow it, at the same time, Israel is building more settlements on Palestinian land and Netanyahu says, we will do whatever we want. I have yet to see the United States government pressuring Israel to do the right and ethical thing, on the contrary, when Israel is found guilty by the Security Council in the United Nations by all countries, our representative, at the United Nations, vetoes the Security Council, letting Israel getting away with murder, literally.
While we, in the United States, have $37 trillion deficit, we spend billions of dollars on weapons that we send to Israel so they can kill innocent Palestinians and destroy their homes and buildings in GAZA and the West Bank, that’s in addition to the $3.8 billion we give to Israel every year just for the hell of it, not to mention the loads of weapons shipped to Israel by air and sea, which cost billions, whenever they ask for it, or rather demand it. The relationship between us and Israel is based on “give and take”, we give and they take. The giving and taking goes in one direction, never the other way. Israel cannot survive without the support of the United States, and what do we get in return? Orders from Netanyahu for more money and expensive weapons. The prime minister of Israel, Who’s dubbed a war criminal by the ICC, International Criminal Court, has the audacity to go around in Israel saying that he controls the US and controls President Trump. He might be telling the truth for change.
On the bright side, the younger generation is more aware of this stupid thing that our government is doing for Israel and they are pushing hard for change. In every poll, you see that the popularity of Israel in plummeting because it was built on lies and deception and evil actions in Palestine, and the popularity of the Palestinians is rising. Our beloved government led by Donald Trump is trying very hard to stifle the protests against Israel by force but the public is not deterred.
Needless to say, our government is broken, so how do we fix it? Here are some suggested actions that would be welcomed by the public:
- Introduce a bill in the house and Senate to limit the amount of contribution by corporations and foreign governments to politicians, and make it a law and force everyone to abide by it.
- Impose a severe penalty on whoever violates this law. I must say, this will never happen because no one is more corrupt than our Senators and the House members.
- Ban all lobbying activities by corporations and other countries, especially Israel’s AIPAC. AIPAC will fight this tooth and nail because that means the end of weapons to Israel, which puts the end to the genocide in GAZA and the West Bank.
- Limit the government spending to the minimum, not by firing government employees and cutting down on essential programs but by limiting or eliminating waste, and there’s plenty of it. Bill Clinton did it, why can’t other presidents do it?
- Stop defending Israel in the United Nations, which will give them a pass to commit more murders.
- Stop funding Israel and force them to stop robbing the Palestinians of their land and resources.
This is the start but implementing such a law takes courage which our government is severely lacking. I realize that this plan is nothing more than “wishful thinking” which’s all we have left in this country.
